My first visit was fantastic. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, just delightful. The service was exceptional. I felt more like a special guest than a customer. The food was out of this world. If I could find words to describe the food accurately, which I probably would't be able to do, it would almost certainly be taken as an exaggeration. Only if you try it will you understand that if you don't try it you really missed a truly memorable experience.

If you are in Palo Alto, and you do not experience Zucca, you will do yourself a great disservice. This quaint, delightful restaurant has the feel of Europe with its decor, pleasant music, and friendliness, but the food is, indeed, exceptional. The executive chef has done a wonderful job in preparing a menu that is versatile, and prepared to perfection. There were three in my party and all were completely satisfied. The Portugese mussels were the best I've had, being tasty and not overcooked, in a perfectly balanced spiced broth. The zucchini dijon melted in my mouth. The entrees were without fault, being full of flavor and remarkably tender. The desserts were not heavy, being joyful to the palate. Experiencing the entire meal with dessert left me satisfied, but not weighty and stuffy full. Zucca is the one place that will be part of my itinerary on every visit to Palo Alto!
